DIRECTIONS TO STUBLEY HOLLOW FARM -

FROM THE PEAK DISTRICT--west/northwest

(From Manchester M60 / M67 - Glossop/Snake Pass)

 

Please note:  there are occasionally days (usually Winter) when due to bad weather the Snake Pass is closed so if in doubt please check local travel news.  Otherwise it is usually a good and very scenic road and probably the quickest route from Manchester.  Approx 1 hour.

 

 

M60 head for M67 (signed Sheffield)  At the end of the M67 follow signs for A628 (Sheffield )and then A57 to GLOSSOP.  Follow signs to Glossop.  Through the centre of Glossop staying on A57 and over the Snake Pass. 

 

After approx 14 miles (passing the Derwent Reservoir on right) at traffic lights turn right onto A6013 to Bamford.  Through Bamford village to traffic lights turn left onto A6187 to Hathersage.

 

Through Hathersage stay on A6187 for 3-4 miles. 

Ignore turning to right signed Grindleford but shortly beyond take turning to right immediately opposite Fox House Pub-- B6054 to Dronfield.

 

Travel 3-4 miles and on reaching 'odd' shaped roundabout (Owler Bar) take 2nd

EXIT which is the B 6056 to HOLMESFIELD.

 

Travel through Holmesfield and into Dronfield Woodhouse.

Road narrows - beyond double bend and brow of hill (Meadow Grange Nursing

Home on left) TURN RIGHT into CARR LANE (signed to Dronfield).

 

¾ mile over 4 speed bumps (passing Total Petrol Station on RIGHT).  Beyond last

speed bump road bends left and starts to drop down hill.

 

Farm entrance on LEFT immediately beyond that left bend (just before yellow salt grit box) AUTOMATIC GATES
