We always have a very carefully chosen selection of horses and ponies for sale. These vary from ideal 1st pony and cob types to the potential 5 star horse. All are selected for their sanity and soundness and we hope they will be safe and sensible. Types we often have are:
Irish Sport Horses
Irish Draughts
Connemaras
Show Cobs
Family Cobs
Pony Club Ponies
Heinz 57 :)
Most of our horses come from Ireland where on my frequent trips I select and try them before they are shipped over. Recently I have struggled to find the quality of horse at a sensible price that Ireland once had although they are still out there, they are harder to find and even harder to buy. The demand is greater than the supply and that means the prices are rocketing. As nearly all horses in Ireland are bred to be sold as soon as possible, most, especially those who are broken and riding, are sold fairly early on in their lives. You rarely find a good older horse as they are snapped up by so many of us who want the type and temperament that the Irish are so good at breeding. Nevertheless, I am a great believer that the sensible, genuine and kind young brain is still better than the older horse with baggage and many of you have bought younger than you thought your ideal would be only, to be pleasantly surprised that a clean canvas is easier to paint on than one with a lot of paint on already.
I also have some good friends who act as my English scouts and they too find some horses for us in England although many of these have originated from Ireland. Others I buy directly from you and these we guarantee to find good homes with the opportunity to keep you in touch with future owners if you so wish. A few also come from Europe although I don't consider us to be a warmblood specialist and although we have had several from countries such as Belguim, Poland and The Czech Republic, I still find myself leaning towards my good Irish friends who I know and trust to source me the horses and ponies that so many of you want. Most of these horses and ponies come from private homes or farmers and small time producers and most of them have a full history available. When they arrive with us they are allowed time to settle and under go an all round MOT (including teeth floating, worming and shoeing) when we make sure they really are as we describe and that all the buttons work as they should. Most are worked daily, they are carefully brought on. If time permits we also enjoy competing and hunting them.
We pride ourselves in giving you an honest and accurate description of each horse
